Body language & emotions

Emotions usually have a physical experience attached to them that is driven by a complex interaction of neurons and hormones.

E.g. stress starts in the brain, and usually occurs when we make the interpretation that the demands of a situation outweigh the resources available. This imbalance might lead to a thought, “I can’t do this or I am going to fail,” and this leads to us feeling stressed. Behind the scenes, we have a cascade of cortisol release, increased heart rate and blood pressure.
